But having the source code is not enough. You need to make sure it's clear enough for any other vendor to continue working on it. Nobody wants to hold a hot potato. Is it all written in english? Is it developed using good practices that can be scaled and built upon?
But even that is not enough. Is the source code copy you have actually working? Can you rebuild your software from it? Every development uses external libraries, that is the standard and encouraged. These libraries must be included correctly in the source. Also, they get updated when issues such as security breaches are found on them.
Most developers do manual tweaks to build and run a specific software. Hardly any of them documents it. You try to run it and find out there are multiple errors and the software does not run. You're locked out.
And even more importantly: you may be accessing the source code using your vendor's account for source sharing. Even if all of the above doesn't apply, you may still lose everything.
